Darrell is a native Houstonian who grew up as a witness to Houston’s often volatile energy industry. Here he developed a keen awareness of the risk inherent to business, and the importance of mitigating those risks. Darrell owned and operated his own small business for 9 years, and has been in Risk Management and Insurance for more than ten years now.

Darrell’s expertise was honed while working for the country’s ninth largest insurance brokerage firm serving the Risk Management and Insurance needs of Middle to Upper Middle Market Clients. Today Darrell works in a private company atmosphere where he can work one on one with entrepreneurial inclined businesses to help them strategically protect their business and their future. His philosophy is that smaller businesses should not have to buy one size fits all programs. They deserve the same “risk management” approach to protecting their business that large firms have.

Darrell believes that the possibility of loss exists throughout the chain of commerce and that chain of commerce must be understood from the sourcing of materials and contractors to the delivery of goods. Potential loss should be addressed by a combination of risk mitigation and insurance. Growing companies need insurance professionals to help clients buy less and plan more. One must understand the client’s business and where they are in the life cycle of their business to be able to set and achieve productive goals.

Darrell is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He has been married for 16 years and is the proud father of two, which has adversely impacted his handicap…and he would not change a thing.
